About Hatch Space

Our Mission

Our mission is to support artists and creatives by providing dedicated workspaces where they can develop their practice, build connections and create new work. Alongside our studio programme, Hatch Space produces projects that bring artists together, encourage collaboration and create opportunities for creative work to be shared with wider audiences. We aim to build active, supportive environments that strengthen artistic practice and contribute to cultural life in the communities where we work.

Our History

Hatch Space grew out of MART, the artist-led organisation founded in 2007 by Ciara Scanlan and Matthew to support contemporary artists through exhibitions, projects and studio spaces. Over the years, MART developed and managed a growing network of workspaces for artists across Dublin and beyond. Hatch Space was established to build on that experience, with a dedicated focus on providing and managing creative workspaces while continuing to produce projects that support artists, collaboration and cultural engagement.

Our Objectives

Hatch Space aims to provide dedicated workspaces that support artists and creatives in developing their practice, while managing these spaces in a professional, sustainable and supportive way. We produce projects that encourage collaboration, create opportunities for new work to be developed and shared, and strengthen connections between artists, creative communities and wider audiences. Through this work, we aim to support a broad range of creative practices and contribute to the cultural life of the communities in which we operate.
